The band .Feast has a long history in the music world, and their album concert “Membangun dan Menghancurkan” marks 13 years of enriching the Indonesian music scene. On Saturday, September 13th, the band, known for its socio-politically charged songs, held this concert in Grand City Convex Surabaya. According to .Feast member Awan, bassist Awan, Surabaya holds an emotional connection to them as a band. Their 2018 song, “Peradaban,” even serves as a commentary on the church bombings in Surabaya.
In keeping with .Feast’s stance and personality, the Jakarta-based band partnered with Pable for this concert to go the extra mile. For the album concert “Membangun dan Menghancurkan” in Surabaya, audience were encouraged to bring one or two pieces of their used clothing, which will be placed in Pable’s dropbox at the concert venue. Pable will then recycle and design the fabric into a renewable item. .Feast will wear these items on their next “Membangun dan Menghancurkan” stage.
This demonstrates .Feast’s commitment to reducing textile waste in performances, while also strengthening their identity as a group that believes art is a vehicle for change. This project also aligns with the album “Membangun dan Menghancurkan”, which is a profound reflection on .Feast’s journey as musicians and individuals.
