As the culmination of its 27th anniversary celebrations, Bank Mandiri, with its sustainable initiative, Mandiri Looping for Life, held Livin’ Fest by Mandiri 2025. The event was held in major cities across Indonesia, including Jakarta, Medan, Palembang, Makassar, Balikpapan, Jayapura, Denpasar, Bandung, and Semarang, concluding with Surabaya. As the closing city, Livin’ Fest Surabaya 2025 offered a variety of events, from music shows featuring local and national artists, to sports events, culinary delights, and more. Livin’ Fest Surabaya 2025 was held over four days, from December 11-14 at the Grand City Convention Hall in Surabaya. Working with more than 400 tenants from MSMEs and creative industries, Bank Mandiri is committed to being a key supporter of community economic development in Indonesia.
Accompanying the Indonesian economy for over a quarter of a century, Bank Mandiri is realizing its vision of sustainability through concrete actions to reduce carbon emissions. A series of efforts have been made, such as recycling uniforms which were then redesigned into new merchandise and uniforms, collaborating with local fashion brand Othman, and finally at the Livin’ Fest Surabaya 2025 event, they found a new initiative.
In collaboration with Pable, Mandiri Looping for Life dedicated one of hundreds of MSME booths with various themes to become a Looping for Life booth. In this booth, Bank Mandiri and Pable not only exhibited recycled uniforms to show that the textile waste problem is very possible to solve, but also held a potpourri-making workshop. Potpourri is a fragrance made from natural ingredients such as dried lemon, cloves, star anise, dried flowers, and so on. Visitors were invited to explore how to decorate and beautify their homes with these natural ingredients, then the finished potpourri will be put into a pouch made from Pable fabric which is 100% made from recycled materials. This workshop is expected to be a collective reminder that the sustainable movement can start from small things in our own homes. Interested visitors were directed to donate through Mandiri Livin’ Planet, a sustainability feature in Bank Mandiri’s Livin’ application. By donating, visitors can sponsor a tree to be planted and thus register for Pable’s potpourri workshop. Pable isn’t alone; we’re bringing our entire sustainable neighborhood together, including Mamaramah, Dauroma, Warp, and Yaya’s Secret.
