To celebrate its 5th anniversary, Pable held an Open House with the theme “Playble,” a reminder to find joy in our journey toward circularity. This event aims to serve as a platform for shaping a circular future together. The Open House took place on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Pable’s warehouse at Jl. Wonorejo Timur No. 150-B, Wonorejo, Rungkut, Surabaya, East Java. The event was open to the public.
Over the past five years, Pable has grown alongside local artisans, small-scale producers, companies, and communities who share Pable’s values of mindful design and conscious living. This special event brought together friends, clients, and collaborators through curated exhibitions, meaningful conversations, and shared stories—highlighting the creative ecosystem that has supported Pable’s journey as a brand.
This Open House explored various activities, such as an interesting talk show with the theme “Redesigning Life & Materials” with leading brands in sustainable business like Atsiri (a sustainable perfumery and wellness company) attended by the founder of Rumah Atsiri Natasha Clairine and Chop Value (wooden chopstick recycling) attended by the General Manager of Chop Value Bali Linda Umar, as well as an exciting shibori (Japanese natural dyeing) workshop guided by the Faculty of Creative Industries of the Universitas Surabaya. Pable also presented a surprise talk show with Toko Kopi Tuku and Hijack Sandals with the theme “From Ground to Goods: Designing What Grows Back”. Robries and Poenya Nyonya Anina also enlivened the talk show by providing their respective product; recycled chairs for the talkshow seating and discount vouchers for lucky talk show participants, tenants, media friends, and invited guests. Presenting speakers from all over Indonesia, De Mier Guest House supported Pable by providing accommodation for our speakers.
In addition, visitors enjoyed music from local DJs with audio supported by Pavana Audio and visited the sustainable market containing curated tenants from the art, home, and living fields with a focus aligned with Pable, namely sustainability such as Dauroma (fruit waste perfume), Livingbar (natural soap), Tinctori and RekaLagam (natural dye products) and many more. Playble also became a collaborative platform for fine arts artists such as Nitchii, Patricia Thebes, Kopippoki, and Artoynesia. Visitors were also pampered by the food market tenants like Hunk Over (pizzeria), Mamaramah (eco-bulk store), and Sajor Major (plant-based restaurant) as well as free flow fruit juice from Squeeze and coffee from Toko Kopi Tuku. In this event, Pable also launched our new program Portable, by placing a dropbox for visitors to donate clothes for recycling. The enthusiasm of visitors exceeded expectations, even though the event had to be accompanied by rain for several hours.
By integrating these activities, Playble positions itself as more than just a textile event —it is a lifestyle movement that promotes mindful, circular, and meaningful living. Our hope never seize, to make waste visible, valuable, and viable through inclusive design and cross-sector collaboration. May our long journey be fruitful, and may the storms we got through grant us a brighter sun.
