When being given words like “Indonesian materials” or “contemporary arts”, a uniform image would come to mind: most people would focus on paintings. Artsubs 2025 is here to remind you to explore the vast and diverse materials in the Indonesian contemporary art scene. Bringing the theme of Material Ways (Jalan Ragam Materi), Artsubs 2025 exhibition seeks to spark discourse on the role of not only painting, but also other material-based artworks within Indonesia’s contemporary art landscape. Held at Balai Pemuda, Surabaya from August 2nd to September 7th, Artsubs 2025 incorporates the identity of Surabaya as an industrial city.

Pable joins in the form of collectible items; bucket hats, which are made from 100% recycled Pabtex. From the beginning, these bucket hats made by Pable embody the theme of Material Ways – made from locally sourced materials, processed with Indonesian method and handmade by local communities. You can find them exclusively in Artsubs 2025, along with Pable’s spirit of circularity attached to them.

This collaboration hopes to widen the horizon of Indonesian materials, with a touch of sustainability and ecological awareness.
