The Sound of Downtown 2026 music festival was successfully held at the Surabaya Expo Center, marking the first time the event spanned two consecutive days—from Saturday, August 1, to Sunday, August 2, 2026. An annual event, Sound of Downtown serves as a platform for dozens of Indonesian and international musicians to showcase their multi-genre music. The festival is an initiative by Livin’ by Bank Mandiri, which is expanding its presence by fostering an ecosystem within the creative and live performance industries through its various other brands.
Meanwhile, the creative ecosystem of Pable, Playble, had the opportunity to bring our north-star, “Playground for Change,” to life. In collaboration with Mandiri Looping for Life —Bank Mandiri’s sustainability initiative— together we enlivened SoD 2026 with exciting activations and merchandise. Centered on the theme “Loop of Fortune,” Playble offered visitors a tarot-based energy reading experience after they purchased merchandise by redeeming points via Bank Mandiri’s Livin’ app.
Visitors who received a tarot card were given a free patchwork that could be iron-pressed directly onto their chosen merchandise at the Mandiri Looping for Life booth. The merchandise on offer included hats and bandanas/scarves, both crafted from Pabtex fabric, made from 100% recycled materials. The bandanas and scarves were also adorned with batik cap (stamp batik) pattern and dyed using 100% natural indigo dye.
The enthusiasm from both booth visitors and the general SoD festival crowd was electric. This excitement stemmed largely from enjoying performances by favorite musicians, coupled with the experience of participating in simple yet meaningful efforts toward more responsible fashion scene.
